Rachel Foster is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work. She is passionate about easing the transition from military to civilian life and helping mental health providers, business leaders, and interested community members support veterans and their families during this process. She holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from Case Western Reserve University and a PhD in social work research from UNC-Chapel Hill. Rachel is also a retired United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, having served nearly 21 years as an active-duty social worker. She is a combat veteran, having led a combat stress clinic/team while in Afghanistan.
